Liberia experienced a civil war for 14 years. The war brought complete destruction to the country. They have still not fully recovered.
We know the impacts of physical war on countries and people. War causes death, famine, and disease. It can separate families, increase fears and destroy nations.
Spiritual war is the same. Spiritual war can cause spiritual death, spiritual famine, and spiritual sickness. It can separate families, increase fears, and destroy individuals and people groups.
I have seen more and more how the physical world can help us understand the spiritual world if we allow it.
Recently, I was encouraged by the reality of partnership. When you are fighting a physical war, one of the mottos of war is “leave no man behind.” You fight with and for your team even to the point of death.
In spiritual war, we need the protection and partnership of those fighting with us.
Notice in Ephesians 6:10-20 that the armor of God does NOT include protection for your back.
I’ve heard it said that your battle partner is responsible for that. As you stand back to back, you protect each other.
During my single years, these battle partners were always changing and I am SOO grateful for them! But I am also so excited to join a permanent battle partner. 🥰
As my battle partner and I continue to fight toward ONE common goal, may we neglect the temptation to fight against each other. May we be alert and aware of the enemy’s attacks knowing that He doesn’t have the final say!
As we fight, we stand behind the One who defeated the devil at the cross (Colossians 2:15) and is awaiting the right time for his final defeat (Revelation 17:14).
We don’t depend on how many times we went to church, how many times we prayed, or our Christian families. We depend on Christ.
Revelation 17:14
[14] They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”
May we be counted as chosen and faithful only because we dressed ourselves in the white garments of Christ. ❤️
5 more days until I join my permanent battle partner!
